Wales - The Land of Song, a Nation of Singers, has over the generations built up a huge international reputation for its Choral Singing. These Choirs developed from the industrial backbone of the country namely its coal, steel & iron-making but like these industries, it is now sadly in decline.

The Black Mountain Male Chorus was formed in 1996 to introduce a new generation of young singer to this age-old tradition. This is reflected in the fact that the average age is only 30 years old and many are young soloists who are taking the first rung of the professional ladder.

In its relatively short life, the Chorus has already undertaken tours of over 200 Concerts across the U.S.A. and the many 'House Full' signs are testimony to the continuing American fascination with Welsh Choirs. Yet what sets this Choir apart is their youthful & vibrant approach to their tradition (& they obviously have a lot of fun doing it!).

Wales is a beautiful Celtic country with a wonderful heritage of myths and legends, poetry & song. The Chorus, together with their talented soloists, try to capture this in every performance and has been described as 'A Musical Journey through Wales' (with some surprising stops along the way!).

With this musical background and youthful enthusiasm, the Black Mountain Male Chorus of Wales represents a vibrantly new generation of Welsh Male Choir.
