"Cheers
rang through Philharmonic Hall... the audience did not merely like
it, they loved it!”
New York Times
"Exhilarating...
Stylish... Imaginative... Engaging!”
Chicago Reader
For almost four decades,
the defining cultural critical arts writers from the industry leaders
like Rolling Stone, Stereophile, Down Beat, Billboard, Jazziz, New
York Times, and Washington Post have all recognized Corky Siegel
as a "phenomenal virtuoso on harmonica... a deft accomplished
genius of the Blues." A pioneer who brings his original
award-winning benchmark compositions to delighted audiences globally.
Today, armed with the same creative genius and instrumental virtuosity
which he brought to traditional Chicago blues during the heyday
of the legendary Siegel-Schwall Band, Corky presents Chamber
Blues.
Under Corky's tremendous
lead on harmonica and piano, The West End String Quartet and percussionist
Frank Donaldson complete the Chamber Blues band. In select concert
settings, Corky welcomes accomplished vocalist Marcy Levy,
known widely for her cooperative efforts with a who's-who in the
music trade, including Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, Elton John,
and Bette Midler.
New fans and longtime followers of Corky's
blues career have been quick to embrace his genre-busting Chamber
Blues. The freshly innovative sound captures the sparkling qualities
of classical music merged with the emotional melodic style of blues,
all within an intimate chamber setting. Corky has boldly discovered
the musical and cultural boundaries between two distinct and important
musical forms, and just as boldly dissolved them. Widely diverse
audiences receive his concerts with wild enthusiasm.
